The Nazi organization, Golden Dawn, is for the first time faced with the prospect of accounting for its crimes, on Monday, April 20th. Golden Dawn’s leader and more than 70 members, including all it’s MP’s go on trial, on this day. British anti-fascists from UAF, Anti-Fascist Action for Greece, Greek Solidarity Campaign, KEERFA, call on anti-fascists to rally in London, in support of Greek anti-fascists. The trial opening will see many Greek anti-fascists come together to rally, in a show of Greek, anti-fascists unity.
The trial would not have been possible without the constant mobilization of thousands of anti-fascists for over two decades, and certainly not without the anti-fascist explosion that followed the brutal murder of Pavlos Fyssas by the Golden Dawn member Roupakia, in Keratsini.
The government, the police, the courts, all the “institutions”, tolerated – if not strengthened – the activities of neo-Nazis until the evening of Pavlos’ murder. The State inaction in front of the racist murder of Sachzat Loukman on 17/01/2013 at Petralona by members of Golden Dawn, the lack of arrests even after the murderous attack on trade union PAME in Perama, and the signing of the ministerial order for the regular financing of “party” by Interior Minister John Michelaki in 2013, show the real intentions of institutional factors.
